The San Diego Historical Society selected 1236 Alameda Blvd., a project completed by Flagship Properties, as its showcase tour house in 2001. During the five-week tour, over 11,000 people visited this showcase house. The original home was designed by renowned architect, William Templeton Johnson in 1916. The home, when it was originally built, was located on the oceanfront in Coronado. Over the years, the lot was subdivided and the front entry of the house was moved to Alameda Blvd.
